Introducing our newest furbaby - Miss Kleopatra!

Okay. This is the last one. I have grounded myself from PetSmart and can not go in that store alone EVAH!! I just couldn't help myself. Look at this little girl's face. She and her 6 siblings were just brought to the local PetSmart where I went to get food for our OTHER 6 "I can't help myselfs'" that we have. I told myself...don't do it...walk away from the kitty kounter...stay on the fish side of the store. NOT!! Wrong! As I walked by, there was all this commotion on the bottom of the cage, and there they were...all 7 of them. Of course, Kleo was the cutest and the most rambunctious of them all. I was only going to hold her, make friends and mosey on my way. Yeah, like that would ever happen. She kissed me and was so sweet and soft...barely could hear her purr...couldn't put her back. 20 minutes later, we were toolin' down the street toward the house. Knowing full well that I had to invent the BEST story ever...pretty hard since I had already invented the last 4 Best Stories ever...but...when Bill came in, Kleo became his Father's Day present!!! Ha! And it worked. He loves her, too. She is perfect in every way. Even Miss Petunia is warming up to her, but a bit slower that the others. Willie, he's the oldest "dad-like" cat, thinks she needs a bath every time he walks by her. Miss Daisy, the oldest "mom-like" cat, watches over her like she is her real mom. The others have adopted her into their circle of cats pretty well. Lil Cesar thought she was a chew toy for a few days, but they are buds to the end now. Thanks for listening!!

Floral Faced Lady

Hello everyone! Today is a fun day for me. I have created my first digital design for commission and am very excited. I have been teaching myself Paint Shop Pro for the last several months and am quite comfortable with the program. I'd love to see your thoughts on this piece - I am going to use a modified version of it for an ATC front for one of my swaps.

Christmas in July ATC Swap

Let it Snow Let it Snow...my Christmas in July ATC swap creation. Like it? Let me know...Love comments.

Shirt Card Addicted!!

Oh, Jeez...I think I have to stop now! I can't seem to get enough of these cute shirt cards. I made one for my son and one for Rose...they'll get a kick out of them. Refer to the last post for the website for easy directions!!

Shirt Card!

I think this little origami shirt is just so sweet. I made this card for Shannon to give to her Dad for Father's Day, and she just loved it. It opens from the bottom and was downsized from the original size. It calls for 8.5x11.5 piece of paper, but I used 6.5x9.5 and it came out perfectly sized. Special thanks to my friend Joanne for the button brads. They are the perfect accent for this shirt. Try this technique yourself...it's really not hard! Click here for the website...

Under The Sea Spotlight Technique Swap

First time ever making cards using the "Spotlight" technique. Really cool technique and swap theme colors...I am happy with the results. The swap isn't due until late in July, but I wanted to try this technique...it's on the Splitcoast Stampers website...click here for the tutorial. Would love to see what ya'll have to say.

All Around The World ATC Swap

Oh, I think this ATC turned out better than I expected. I love taking pictures of windows. In one of my other lives, I must have been a photographer...I really love to take pictures. This is one of the many window pics I took while vacationing in Italy. Venice to be exact. The "window curtain" is a tiny piece of lace and the "curtain rod" is held in place with two gold brads. We all know I am addicted to Anita's Outline Stickers...they add so much to wherever they are used.

Friendship Tea / Coffee Card Swap

Here's another swap I am participating in. I LOVE the vintage look, and often wished I was party of that long-ago time. The Anita's Outline Stickers make this card, in my opinion. We were asked to include a pouched tea bag (or coffee) to share with the other swappers. Can't wait!! Let me know what you think.

Actors From The Past Card Front Swap

Joined this swap a bit ago from the Paper Craft Magazine website. I have always liked this website, and have a subscription to the magazine. I designed this card using a rather attractive photo (early) of Mae West, and really like how the blue hues are highlighted on her face. I used PSP for the hues and the image edge. Torn printed vellum makes a nice accent for the black "jewels"...let me know what you think.

Coastal Cabana Cards ~ Update

The Coastal Cabana is located in Dunedin, Florida and is just about the sweetest little chic seaside boutique EVAH!! Go visit with Lisa and see just what I'm talking about. It's located on the Corner of Broadway & Scotland - 712 Broadway in Dunedin. The gifts are "Inspired by the Sea" and I could stay there all day and smell the beautiful candles. When you go, check out my cards. Yep...Lisa's asked for more designs for your gift giving pleasure. Why, you can't buy the perfect gift without the perfect card to go with it. Even if the gift is for yourself...you deserve a card too. Have a peek at some of the cards I have designed for the shop.

Western Theme Card Swap

Today I received the cards from the Western Theme Card Swappers!! YIPPEE...Click here to take a peek Created this card last week (before the BIG YUCKIES got me) for a Western Theme Card Swap. The one I submitted used Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 to vary the opacity of the two images I used. One being a photograph of my father with one of our horses, taken in 1983 in Elmira, NY and the other was a scanned image of a western card I had purchased in Colorado Springs during my visit there in 2003. Layering the two images created just the look I was going for. Hopefully, the participants in the swap will forgive me for being ill and late with the mailing of the cards.

PERFECTION!

I have to share this picture with everyone. Isn't this just the cutest little girl in the whole world. Her mother and my son share their lives together, and this was taken at Honeymoon Island, here in Florida. What a beautiful day for the 'Lil Missie to experience her first visit to the beach. As the story goes, after she recovered from her initial shock of the "sandy toes" and how all that sand feels for the first time, there was no stopping her...building sand castle dreams and simply being a child. Reminds me of when I used to take my son to the beaches around the Tampa Bay area when he was young. Every time I look at those pictures of that skinny little kid on the sand and in the water, it just kills me. Any-who...now I am half a grandma. Cool - huh?!?!?

Photo Card Swap Photos!

I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to share with you these photos. I have been feverishly (not while I was with fever this past week) teaching myself Paint Shop Pro X2 to the level that I expect to be. If you are not familiar with this software, it is a photographic software. It even includes a built-in Learning Center to help new users get started right away! Don'tcha just love the thought of no one telling you what to do and how to do it? I do. But sometimes, it is easier to just have someone to turn to and ask, how do you do something or other. Not in this case. No one I know ANYWHERE knows PSP...now, I do, and I am happy happy happy. Comments Please. This is a photo of our furbaby, Lil Cesare. I will use these for altered photos for a Photo Card Swap I am a part of. Almost ready to go out the door, just had to post these photos!! Yeah to Me!! You can see the slide show of the cards to the right ---------->
